18 Things To Do In Sevierville, Tennessee With Kids

Just a short drive from the thick of the Smoky Mountains, Sevierville is the perfect place to be to get away from the busyness of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The Smoky Mountain National Park is the most visited national park in the United States, so naturally, you won’t be short on things to do and places to explore in the area.

After years and years of visiting the Smokies and the surrounding areas, I’ve made a list of my top things to do in Sevierville, just for you!

Sevierville is closer to Pigeon Forge. It’s roughly 15 minutes from Pigeon Forge and 25 minutes from Gatlinburg.

The perfect quiet getaway. If you or your travel companions like to fish, the greenway is a must. This is also a great place to take a walk along the water. If you are traveling with a little one in a stroller, the path is pathed so you can enjoy the area even with your littles.

Mt. Ton Of Fun Playground

This is an inclusive playground in Sevierville that is seriously a kid’s dream come true. When I was a little girl I would be thrilled to visit this playground! This is a great place to let your kids play before bed or to just get out of the city and away from the crowds.

Sevier County Heritage Museum

History lover? Or maybe you are just looking for something to do on a rainy day. This museum is full of old photographs, newspaper clippings, and old artifacts such as eyeglasses, typewriters, and military items. If you’re looking for cheap things to do in Sevierville TN, the Sevier County Heritage Museum is the way to go!

Are you looking for a spectacular souvenir to take home from The Smoky Mountains? By far the most popular restaurant in Sevierville, your trip wouldn’t be complete without a meal at the Applewood Farmhouse. They serve thick french toast, fried chicken, southern omelets and TONS of mouth-watering southern cuisine. Wear your stretchy pants, because this place is delish!

Dolly Parton Statue

Dolly was born in Locust Ridge, Tennessee-just 25 minutes from Sevierville. Before you head downtown to get your picture taken in front of the country queen, check the events going on in the city during your stay in Sevierville. You may be able to catch a festival, outdoor music, or a farmers market while you are in the area.

Visiting the Dolly Parton statue is one of the best things to do in downtown Sevierville!

Harrisburg Covered Bridge

Built in 1875, this one-lane-covered bridge is over the east fork of The Little Pigeon River. This is a dreamy location for family pictures! A visit to the Harrisburg Covered Bridge is one of the best things to do in Sevierville TN for free!

Adventureworks Climb Zip Swing

These treetop adventures have a lot to offer visitors. They have specific courses for young kids that aren’t so high off the ground as well as a challenge course that has over FIFTY challenges. To top off the general adventure awesomeness that this place has, the prices are incredible. I have come across so many different zip lining and ropes courses on my travels and Adventureworks has some of the best prices I have ever seen!

Apple Barn Winery

Did you even go to Sevierville if you didn’t go to The Apple Barn? Walk into this scrumptious piece of paradise and get your wine on! Walk through the beautiful rows of fruit, try some homemade ice cream, buy some freshly baked bread, go home with a boatload of country wine, stop for breakfast, or browse around the little Christmas shop. However you spend your time here, The Apple Barn will quickly become a family favorite!

Wahoo Ziplines

As long as you are 45 pounds and 5 years old, you can ride on these thrilling zip lines through the Smoky Mountains. Soar a whopping 250 feet above the ground, slide between the trees, glide through the air with the birds at your side–Wahoo Zip lines are for the real adventure seekers!

Wild Waterdome Indoor Waterpark

Dive into the Wild Waterdome in Sevierville. A hot spa, water slides, kid play areas, swimming pools, a wave pool, a surf rider and more await you at the Wild Waterdome! Spend a rainy, hot, or freezing winter day inside at a place that the whole family will love!

Rain Forest Adventures Discovery Zoo

Get up close to rain forest animals like lemurs, sugar gliders, and tons of other animals, some of which you a Rain Forest Adventures. As a mother of a 2 and 3 year old, I know how much kids love to be around animals. However, outdoor zoos and similar attractions are only an option during some times during the year. Visit this Discovery zoo 364 days a year! See lemurs, crocodiles, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, and other fascinating rainforest animals!

Ripley’s Old MacDonald’s Farm Mini-Golf

Yay for mini-golf! Who doesn’t love a good mini-golf course? This mini-golf course in Sevierville offers FIFTY-FOUR holes of farm-themed fun. This mini-golf course is one of the most unique things to do in Sevierville, TN! Before or after you go golfing, maybe you would be interested in a little shopping. Right next door to the mini-golf course is the Tanger shopping outlet.

Every year, my mom and I take a trip to these outlets for amazing prices on Christmas Gifts. The Vans Outlet, Yankee Candle, Under Armour, Nike Factory Store, J Crew Factory, and Fossil are our favorites! Particularly, the Nike Factory Store has amazing deals in the fall/winter.

Sevier Air Trampoline and Ninja Warrior Park

Right in Sevierville, this EPIC trampoline park will have even the calmest family members wanting to get in on the fun! Basketball, trampolines, rock walls, dodgeball, a times ninja warrior course, and a THREE STORY rope network system. Plus, prices start at only $12 an hour!

Tennessee Museum of Aviation

Kids will love this Sevierville museum! Tour the 35,000ft aircraft hanger, walk through the exhibit gallery and see historic aviation artifacts. Over 15 aircraft call this museum home! If you have a little one turning another year older while you are in Sevierville, this is a great place to have a birthday party! Only $85 for a party of up to 10 people–this price includes a guided tour of the aircraft hanger, table and chairs set up, and a photo opportunity for the children in the A-4 Skyhawk Cockpit.

Smoky Mountain Deer Farm and Exotic Petting Zoo

Camels, zebras, goats, kangaroos-oh my! Besides being surrounded by beautiful creatures, they also offer pony rides and horseback riding stables. You can lead the ponies yourself to make your little ones feel more comfortable on a ride. Horseback riding costs start at just $23 a person. The Smoky Mountain Deer Farm and Exotic Petting Zoo is one of the coolest Sevierville activities!
